The ciprofloxacin was discovered in the year 1997 and is the active ingredient that fights diarrhea caused due to Helicobacter pylori (bacteria that causes stomach ulcer). The doctor who discovered ciprofloxacin called it Sirved paramezofloxacin. This discovery of Sirved paramezofloxacin led to the naming of the new drug as ciprofloxacin. The drug was introduced in the market at a price of $0.80 per dose, which is quite cheap. From this period, the drug became highly popular and was prescribed by many doctors without any adverse reactions being reported by patients.

Ciprofloxacin Tablet was soon discovered to be able to reduce gas, bloating and abdominal pains caused due to diarrhea. Lixitin was marketed under several names including Metronidazole, Lumigan, Lixitin SR, Ciprofloxacin SR and Ciprofloxacin TK. All these brands were successful in providing results to patients suffering from stomach ulcer.

However, when comparing the efficiency of ciprofloxacin tablet with that of Lixitin or Metronidazole, it was observed that the former is more effective as it contains a single molecule of leupeptin, whereas the latter contained the molecule of metronidazole.

Therefore, Levofloxacino was approved as an additional ingredient for ciprofloxacin tablet and has been used as an additional medication for stomach ulcer patients. It has been proved effective in reducing the size of lesions and the number of relapses in stomach ulcer. Moreover, patients who have crossed the oral administration stage, noted significant improvements.

Levofloxacino is available in both oral and injectable forms and thus, it can be administered in a number of ways.

It is an important addition to the treatment protocol of stomach ulcer patients and thus, should be given an opportunity to prove its efficiency. At the present time, there are no significant side effects reported by patients who have taken levofloxacin as an adjunct to their ciprofloxacin lawsuit settlement amounts. It has also been proven safe for internal use. However, regular blood tests should be carried out to monitor the progress and health of patients while on the medicines.
